What is TPR material?

April 16th at 4:55pm

TPR (Thermo-Plastic-Rubber material) is a thermoplastic Rubber material. It is a kind of thermoplastic soft compound with rubber elasticity and no vulcanization, and can be directly processed (such as injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, etc.).
TPR material is based on thermoplastic styrene butadiene rubber (SBS, SEBS) as raw materials, adding resins (such as PP,PS), fillers, plasticizers and other functional additives blended modified materials.
The color is transparent particles; The shape is a particle, usually with round spheroids, ellipsoids and fine round bars, the surface is bright, with better reflective performance.
-- The elasticity of rubber and good wear resistance, anti-slip and shock absorption performance is excellent, TPR material soft comfort is superior to rubber, but the tensile strength, fatigue resistance and mechanical properties of the material are not as good as vulcanized rubber.
-- The temperature range is -45~90℃. Usually TPR material is based on SBS substrate, its chemical properties are as follows: weather resistance, aging resistance is general, temperature resistance 70~75℃. If you need a material with good aging resistance and temperature resistance, you can choose a modified material of SEBS substrate.
Hardness characteristics: TPR materials can adjust their hardness at Shore hardness 5~100 degrees, and modified materials with SEBS as the base material can be adjusted to a lower hardness.
-- Processing characteristics, TPR materials and some glue, ink, etc., have good bonding performance, with good oil spray silk screen processing.
-- Environmental protection characteristics, TPR material as an environmentally friendly soft adhesive, the main hazardous substances such as plasticizer Phthalate, nonylphenol NP, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons PAHs test, in line with ROHS,REACH,EN71-3, ASTMF963 environmental protection testing standards.
