What is the difference between TPR/TPR/TPU materials?

April 16th at 6:27pm

TPR (Thermoplastic elastomer) :
• Good elasticity and flexibility.
• Easy to process, injection molding.
• Relatively low cost.
• Good resistance to high and low temperatures.
• Widely used in toys, daily necessities, sports equipment and other fields.
TPE (Thermoplastic elastomer) :
• Similar to TPR, it has elasticity and flexibility.
• Performance may improve in some areas.
• Can be coated and bonded with a variety of materials.
TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer) :
• High strength and wear resistance.
• Good resistance to oil and chemical corrosion.
• Good elasticity and resilience.
• Commonly used in automotive, medical, electronics and other fields.
The specific performance of TPU is also affected by its formulation and processing conditions:
• Hardness: The hardness can be changed by adjusting the formula to suit different application needs.
Tensile strength: It has a high tensile strength, making it excellent in terms of load bearing and tensile resistance.
• Wear resistance: Excellent wear resistance, prolong the service life of the product.
• Aging resistance: can be used outdoors or in harsh environments for a long time.
The selection of these materials should be determined according to the specific requirements of the product, such as performance, cost, processing technology and other factors.
